Cargonautes, a private limited liability company (SARL) with a share capital of €1,000, whose registered office is located at 189 rue d'Aubervilliers, Allée D - Building 22-24, Paris 75018, registered with the Paris Trade and Companies Register under number 817 439 201 (the “Company”, “we”), invites the user (the “User”, “you”) to carefully read this Cookie Policy before using the cyke.io website, all of its subdomains, and the Cyke mobile application (the “Site”).

Definition of a Cookie

The CNIL (French Data Protection Authority) defines a cookie as follows: “a cookie is a small computer file, a tracker, placed and read, for example, when visiting a website, reading an email, installing or using software or a mobile application, regardless of the type of device used (computer, smartphone, digital reader, video game console connected to the internet, etc.).” For simplicity, the term “cookie” may be used interchangeably with “tracker” in the rest of this policy.

Definition of Prior Consent

Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC, as amended in 2009, establishes the principle of “prior consent from the user before storing information on their device or accessing information already stored on it, unless these actions are strictly necessary for providing an online communication service expressly requested by the user or are solely intended to enable or facilitate such communication.” Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act incorporates this principle into French law. In practical terms, the CNIL clarifies that “any cookies that are not exclusively intended to enable or facilitate electronic communication, or are not strictly necessary for providing an online communication service requested by the user, require the user’s prior consent.” The CNIL provides examples of cookies that do or do not require the User’s consent. At Cyke, we use only one cookie: a login cookie that allows us to know whether a user is logged in. Except where required by legal or regulatory obligations, whether data is collected directly or indirectly, no data is shared with third parties, except with the service provider involved in the collection (who may transmit it to us but may not exploit it).
